Are you passionate about skiing or snowboarding? Do you enjoy the mountain environment? Can you share your enthusiasm with others? If the answer to all these questions is “Yes” then maybe you have what it takes to become a Snowsports Coach. Snowbasin Resort has an excellent Apprentice Training Program that runs at the beginning of each season and it will teach you all you need to know to deliver an exceptional experience to Snowbasin Resort’s guests.  Joining the Apprentice Training Program will improve your personal skiing or riding skills and will teach you how to coach others to improve their skills.  

Join us in the Grizzly Center Children’s Center on Sunday 23rd March 2014 at 12.30 to find out whether you should join next years Apprentice Training Program and become a Snowbasin Resort Snowsports Professional! (The small print: The Apprentice Training Program is designed to improve your personal skiing and riding, however, you should be able to ski parallel on blue terrain or ride blue terrain before considering joining the program)

7th Annual Vertical Challenge Feb 27th

Bob Vertical Challenge with be coming back to Snowbasin Resort this year for its 7th annual run on February 27th, 2014. The event will take place from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Registration will be from 7:30 am to 8:45 am at the Old Day Lodge with the event starting at 9 am. Lunch will be included with the day’s activities. An awards ceremony will occur at 4 pm at the Old Day Lodge.

Just as the challenges before, all proceeds from Bob’s Vertical Challenge go to Scout reach, an officially recognized charity arm of the Boys Scouts of America (BSA). Scout reach aids youth groups such as YMCA, Youth Impact, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis Counties, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Brigham City and Cache Valley. It also offers assistance to Ogden City schools, as well as providing scout camp scholarships and registration fees for youth.

Snowbasin is proud to announce we are open top to bottom!  You will be able to ski/ride the following trails accessed by the Needles Gondola:  Bear Hollow, Snow Shoe, School Hill, Strawberry Traverse, Porcupine Traverse, Middle Bowl Traverse, Dan’s Run and Sweat Revenge.

Snowbasin will also have Middle Bowl Triple and Little Cat lifts open for you enjoyment.  New lift ticket prices are as follows:

Opening Day Snow Conditions & Lift Ticket Pricing

Snowbasin Resort will open on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, to mark the official start of the 2012-13 winter ski and snowboard season in Ogden Valley. The resort will begin the season with 2.5″ of new snow since Saturday.  Combined with extensive snowmaking, Snowbasin will be offering a base averaging between 18-22 inches on 5 runs.

For opening day, Snowbasin will offer skiing & snowboarding off Middle Bowl Triple and Little Cat Quad lifts.  Skiers and snowboarders will upload and download on Needles Gondola for Middle Bowl lift access. There will be no top to bottom skiing and snowboarding.  The following runs will be groomed for our snow enthusiasts’ enjoyment: Sweet Revenge, Powder Puff, Strawberry Traverse, Middle Bowl Traverse and Porcupine Traverse. Snowbasin will offer two “pocket” terrain parks containing several features along the open trails with more terrain and lifts opening as weather permits.

Snowbasin’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner at Earl’s Lodge has sold out; however Needles Lodge will be serving food on Thanksgiving Day.

Please ski and ride with care. Obstacles can be hidden just at or below the snow surface. Hiking is not permitted because of snowmaking, avalanche control, and grooming on the mountain. Thanksgiving Day Opening

Snowbasin will be opening in just under a week, November 22nd, for Skiing and Snowboarding conditions permitting.  The annual Thanksgiving Dinner at Earl’s Lodge has sold out!, but food will be served from a limited menu at Needles Lodge on Thanksgiving Day.

We will be updating lift ticket pricing, trail openings and conditions early next week.

Congratulations to everyone that really put some time on the moutnain this season at Snowbasin, especially those who logged more than 80 days skiing/snowboarding*. Snowbasin Closing this Weekend and Festivities

Snowbasin will be closing for the 2011-2012 winter season on Sunday, April 8th. To celebrate another great season, we will be providing music by local favorites The Kap Brothers on Saturday April 7th as well as having a barbecue on the Earl’s Patio from 1:30am -4:30pm, weather permitting. So come out and get one last ski or snowboard day in before the 2011-2012 season comes to a close at Snowbasin and listen to some great local music with your friends or family. Finally, On Sunday, April 8th, Snowbasin will be opening up the Old Day Lodge Parking Lot to people who want to tailgate for the last day of the season!

John Paul Lift to Close April 2nd and Late Season Rates

John Paul Quad Lift will be closing for the 2011-2012 winter season on Monday April 2nd.  Starting April 3rd Snowbasin will be going to its late season lift ticket rates (See Below):

Snowsports Learning Center Late Season Lessons Update
