Snowbasin Resort’s First Annual Beer Fest Oct 5th!

Help Snowbasin Resort close out the last weekend of our summer season with an ‘Oktoberfest’ style party done in true Snowbasin fashion Saturday October 5th!  8 Local UT craft brews will be “on tap” to satisfy all your beer needs and wants. German food staples like bratwurst, special sausages and home-made sauerkraut will be ready hot off-the-grill while summer BBQ favorites like brisket, burgers and pulled pork will be available for purchase.  In typical Snowbasin fashion we will have live music form “Two and a Half White Guys” playing Ska & Rock Steady music to entertain your festive afternoon.

Entrance to the event is FREE. Beer Tokens will be available for purchase (must be 21 + with valid ID) at $2 each that can be redeemed for one 6oz sampler beer.  2 Tokens will get you 12oz of beer.  Seasonal, specialty & high point beers will all be available to token holders.

Full Moon Dinner & Star Party September 20th

Come join the Ogden Astronomical Society and fellow star enthusiasts to observe the breath taking night time views Snowbasin Resort has to offer on Friday September 20th.  Telescopes for public viewing will be available on the Needles Lodge deck compliments of the Ogden Astronomy Club.  Gondola service begins at 5:30 and food service will be available until 9:30 pm. Last Gondola down is at 10:00 pm. New this year Snowbasin will have two food areas at Needles Lodge:  BBQ on the Patio of Needles and the Main Dining Servory inside the lodge. Lift tickets for adults are $10, Children $5, Ages 6 and under are free. No Name Chili Festival Sept 2nd

Gets your taste-buds ready Snowbasin Resort is hosting its first annual No Name Chili Festival on September 2nd.  $12* gets you in the door and if you bring three or more canned food items** your entry fee is only $8*.  With your entry fee you will receive a ballot & sampling kit to taste as many times as you want and judge all 8 Snowbasin Resort chili recipes (named below) prepared by Snowbasin’s highly skilled culinary team. Once you are satisfied with your chili tasting fill out your ballot ranking the best chili of the day.  Snowbasin Resort will tally all the ballets and the winning chili recipe will be served at John Paul Lodge this coming winter season!  That’s right, you, our loyal guest, get to pick the chili at John Paul Lodge for the coming winter season!

There will be live FREE Live Music starting at 12:30 pm with the roots Americana & alt country band Honey Pine then at 3:00 pm Stonefed will hit the stage playing roots groove, funk & reggae.   For the kids Snowbasin will have Snocones, face painters, and balloon benders.  The full BBQ menu and Beer Garden will be available from 12:00 pm -5:00 pm in Earl’s Lodge &  on Earl’s Patio.  The Gondola will be open and available for those that want to purchase tickets.

Kiler Grove Winemaker’s Dinner August 2nd

For an original dining experience this summer, Join Snowbasin Resort at Earl’s Lodge for our first winemaker’s dinner with Urban Winery Kiler Grove.   This reservation only event begins at 6:00 pm on Earl’s Patio with a ‘Flight’ of wines tasting complimented with appetizers freshly made on the patio.  The Daniel Day Trio will be playing Jazz on Earl’s Patio to set the mood for the evening. Saturday Night Fine Dining at Needles Lodge

For an elevated dining experience in the summer, enjoy a mountain-top dinner on Saturday evenings from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm starting July 6th through October 5th. Utah Symphony Under The Stars July 26th

Bring your enthusiasm for musical theater, light classics & patriotic themes, and join Ogden Symphony Ballet Association in welcoming the Utah Symphony to Snowbasin Resort!  Conductor Vladimir Kulenovic will lead the orchestra in this “Classically Charged Celebration” on Friday, July 26th at beautiful Snowbasin Resort at 8:00 p.m.  Gates open & food service begins at 6:30 pm.

The program will feature Musical Theater blockbusters such as the West Side Story, Classics like Belle of the Ball & red, white and blue favorites from “The Star Spangled Banner” to “An Armed Forces Salute.”

Tickets for the concert at Snowbasin Resort are $13 for lawn seating and $25 for preferred seating (prices increase $2 the day of the performance). Dog Days Of Snowbasin

Have your dog by your side for this hike to the bottom of Strawberry. This hike will allow you and your best friend to enjoy the beauty of Snowbasin together. Dogs should be leashed at all times. Water and bathrooms are available at the bottom of Strawberry.

Difficulty: Moderate

Duration: 2-3 hours

(Base area activity. Lift ticket is not required.)

How A Ski Lift Works

Join one of our most popular hikes and learn what makes our lift go round and round. Tour lift terminals, lift shacks, motor rooms and the world famous Needles Parking Garage. Your Lift Maintenance Guide will explain the principles of ski lift operations and help you appreciate your ride to the top.

Tour Of The Cirques

Come prepared because were going to the top! Hike from the top of Needles Gondola to the ridge and then from there to either Strawberry Peak or Mount Ogden Peak and then back to the Needles Gondola. This strenuous hike will give you a bird’s eye view of both the Ogden and Salt Lake Valleys.

Difficulty: Strenuous

Duration: 3-4 hours
