Snowbasin opens for the summer season this weekend, June 26th, for mountain-top dining, hiking/biking, disc golf, scenic gondola rides and….

FREE summer concerts every Sunday in Wildflower Meadow. Codi Jordan will kick-off the season with live music from 1pm – 5pm. A delicious BBQ and cold drinks will be available in the meadow beginning at 12:30pm. Bring your chairs, blankets and sunshades to enjoy the afternoon. The back-drop couldn’t be more beautiful – or more green! Hope to see you this weekend at Snowbasin.

Tickets are now available for the Way Out West Music Festival (WOWFest) at Snowbasin on August 7th – 8th. In addition to Dwight Yoakam, Dave Mason, Cow Bop and other top name performers, Sam Bush has now been confirmed for the star-studded line up. “Sam Bush is #1 on my playlist!”, said Jodi Holmgren, Snowbasin spokesperson. “The mix of entertainers will have a broad appeal with Country Western to Bluegrass, and a little local talent as well,” she said.

The WOWFest (Way Out West Music Festival) is the inaugural event for an annual festival to be held at Snowbasin.
The two-day show has been schedule for Saturday and Sunday, August 7-8, 2010, and  features Dwight Yoakam : Martin Sexton : Sam Bush : Dave Mason : Robben Ford : Jonathan McEuen : Cow Bop : Trever Green : No Where Man & Whisky Girl : Fred Schmitt : Jesse Rodgers and a second stage featuring many others.
The festival will showcase an array of arts-n-crafts from the surrounding area as well as food, beer gardens, activities, beautiful scenery, and a 5-star concert.

ALTERNATIVE ROCK BAND DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL TO HEADLINE WINTER DEW TOUR’S MUSIC STAGE AT WENDY’S INVITATIONAL, JAN. 15

Free Concert To Take Place on Ogden’s Historic 25^th Street

Dashboard Confessional will headline the Winter Dew Tour’s Music Series presented by Verizon Wireless on Friday, January 15. The concert, also featuring local opening act Codi Jordan, will be held in the 200 block of Ogden’s Historic 25^th Street (Grant Ave.) as a part of the second stop of the 2009-10 season, the Wendy’s Invitational, taking place at Snowbasin. The Friday night concert is free to the public and will begin at 7pm.

Originally the side project of lead singer Chris Carrabba, Dashboard Confessional recorded its first album Swiss Army Romance, releasing it in 2000 while Carrabba was still the front man of Further Seems Forever. However, it was the band’s sophomore album, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most and its single “Screaming Infidelities,” that brought Dashboard Confessional to the forefront. The music video for “Screaming Infidelities” garnered the group multiple accolades, including the MTV2 award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2002. More successes followed with A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar and Dusk and Summer, both of which peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard charts, with the song “Vindicated” being featured in the end credits of Spider-Man 2.

The band’s sixth album, Alter the Ending, was released on November 10, with the first single, “Belle of the Boulevard.”

Dashboard Confessional, along with opener Codi Jordan – a rock-driven, local Utah group with elements of reggae, folk and hip hop – will perform Friday night, January 15 on the 200 block of Ogden’s Historic 25^th Street in Ogden. Friday night’s concert will begin at 7pm with gates opening one hour prior to the start of the show. The entire show will be free to the public.

Hear ye’, hear ye! The great people of Ogden, world-class facilities at Snowbasin Resort and majestic Wasatch Range combined to do what no other venue in the history of XTERRA has done before.

First, they rallied the community into hosting an off-road triathlon. Then, they turned that race from a local grassroots affair into a major regional event on the XTERRA Tour. And now, they’re hosting the XTERRA USA Championship, the biggest race on the XTERRA America Tour. Indeed, the culminating event in the 60-race U.S. series.

Come September 26, some 50 pros – Olympians, Adventure Racing World Champs, Mountain Biking Legends alike – will be in town to race for $80,000 in prize money. Dozens of cameraman will position themselves around Wheeler Canyon to capture all the action for a nationally syndicated one-hour sports special. Amateur athletes from nearly every state in the union will travel here to chase their dreams and race for the XTERRA National Championship crown.

And the XTERRA Utah off-road triathlon, featuring a 750m swim, 19km mountain bike, and 5km trail run, will take place on the same day, at the same time (well, 20 minutes later), and on the same course.

Utah is where it’s at, and we want you to join us and make this thing the most rockin’ off-road tri festival ever. In addition to the off-road tris we’re putting on the XTERRA Wheeler Canyon 21k that runs from Pineview Reservoir to Snowbasin Resort, the XTERRA K9 Challenge owner-and-dog races, the Paul Mitchell Cut-a-thon, Kids Zone, Pro Clinics, Expo, party under the stars in downtown Ogden with highlight videos, great food, live music, and good vibes. It’s all part of the annual Mountain 2 Metro games which are running simultaneously with a host of activities and events for the whole family.
