Full Moon Star Gazing and Dinner September 28th

Come join the Ogden Astronomical Society and fellow star enthusiasts to observe the breath taking night time views Snowbasin has to offer on Friday September 28th.  Several telescopes will be present on the Needles Lodge Deck to assist your observations of the stars.  The Gondola starts at 5:30 and dinner will be served between 6pm to 10pm. Saturday Night Mountain-Top Dining

For an elevated dining experience in the summer, enjoy a mountain-top dinner on Saturday evenings from 5:30 to 9:00 pm starting June 30th. 2012 Xterra USA Championships Sept 22nd

The XTERRA USA Championship is the culmination of a series of more than 50 qualifying events across the US that award points to the top athletes in XTERRA’s eight regions. The USA Championship is held in conjunction with the Harvest Moon Festival.

 Pro athletes race for their share of the $80,000 prize purse. $60,000 for the XTERRA America Tour Championship, and $20,000 goes to the fastest pros at nationals.


GOAL FoundationIn addition to the championship, XTERRA offers races for trail runners, as well as the XTERRA Utah short and long course off-road triathlons. Pick up tips from the pros at one of our XTERRA University clinics or enjoy the XTERRA Expo. Kids can get into the fun at the XTERRA Kids Zone.


The XTERRA USA Championship is open to pros and qualified amateur athletes from the US. Here is how to qualify. Non-qualified athletes can race on our championship course by signing up for the XTERRA Utah long course off-road tri, which is open to everyone, or the short course which is half the distance.


Top finishers in each age division are awarded a coveted slot to the XTERRA World Championship on Maui where 550 of the world’s best competitors vie for the world championship title. Also, the fastest age group male and female swimmer timed from start to exit of T1 receive a XTERRA Vortex 3 Full wetsuit. Note: You must be present to receive your award. Pro athletes from the US with a valid pro license can compete for the USA Championship title. International athletes may compete for prize money, but are not eligible for the USA Championship title. Visit the pro racing for more information.

2012 XTERRA Trail Run National Championship Sept 23rd

The 2012 XTERRA Trail Run National Championship will be hosted by Snowbasin Resort for the second year on Sept. 23.

The XTERRA Trail Run Nationals will be held one day after the XTERRA USA Championship off-road triathlon to create the ultimate XTERRA racing weekend. The two events will bring more than 1,000 of the nation’s very best amateur and professional triathletes and trail runners to Northern Utah to battle for the title of XTERRA National Champion.

XTERRA Trail Run National Championship Course Map

The course is a true championship masterpiece.  There is nothing amiss in this perfectly designed thriller, highlighting everything Snowbasin Resort’s terrain has to offer.  If you enjoy gut-wrenching climbs leading to breathtaking views, twisted single track dotted with rock gardens, fast flat sections, and of course, flying effortlessly down rewarding descents, you are in for the race of your life! It hosts the perfect symphony of challenging components to favor the all-around runner.  For those curious about the elevation, the low point hits in at 6,133 feet. High point is just shy of 7,300 feet.  Expect 2,200 feet of climbing.

The fastest runners will be racing for $5,000 in prize money – awarded to the top five men and women as follows: $1,000, $600, $400, $300, $200.  XTERRA will also be crowning national champs in age groups starting at 9 & under, then every five years (ex. 10-14, 15-19, etc…) up to 80+.  Champs win a commemorative long-sleeve winners T and all racers get a short sleeve shirt and goody bag filled with cool swag.
