Come out and celebrate the fall & summer passing into the cold hands of ‘Ol Man Winter with cold beer and Bavarian inspired cuisine like bratwurst, and sauerbraten.  It won’t be long before you’re dreaming of that powder shot off piste, or that perfect groomer on one of those crisp early mornings during the heart of winter.  Powder Days.  Storm Cycles.  Obsessive-compulsive weather updates.  New gear.  Pow Stashes. Good friends.  It won’t be long.  But before that time comes, let’s celebrate the wonderful bounty of the high alpine fall with some of Utah’s finest craft beer companies and brews.  Breweries represented this year (maybe more stay tuned):

Over 13 breweries all with many new beers to feature, and of course those local comfort craving local beers that you just gotta have.  They’ll be there too.

Here’s the deal:

(Must be 21 with valid proof of age to consume alcohol in the state of UT)

You will prove that you are 21 and then you will be given a wristband to wear the entire event.  You will then purchase tokens to sample 6oz brews.  Each token is $2, which needs to be purchased in advance to sample the brews.  The more tokens you buy, the less you will wait in lines…….hint hint.

  • 12 oz. beer = 2 tokens
  • 16 oz. beer = 3 tokens
  • You get the idea.
  • 6oz High Point Beer = 2 Tokens
  • 12 oz. High Point Beer = 3 Tokens
  • Again, you got the picture

Food Drive Event for the Utah Food Bank and the ‘Beat Hunger by a Mile Campaign’

The Snowbasin Resort Culinary team, led by Executive Chef Eric Byrd and Executive Sous Chef Scott Sniggs, will make batches of their own personal chilis to have out for the guests of the event to sample, taste, and then vote on.  The winning chili will be served all year long at Needles Lodge for the 2014.15 season.  Yes you, our guests, get to be a part of the process of selecting next season’s chili at Needle’s Lodge.  So please, come up and join us in this very important culinary process that we want to share with our guests.

To get your chili tasting kit, it will cost you $14 per person with $2 of every purchase going directly to the Utah Food Bank.  If you bring non-perishable food items to help fill our ‘Beat Hunger Gondola’ that will be set-up in the middle of the plaza, your tasting kit will be automatically reduced to $12; with the $2 of each purchase still going to the UT Food Bank.

After the live music concludes, the ballots will be counted, and the winning chili, and the chef that prepared it, will be announced.

The ‘Beat Hunger Gondola’ full of non-perishable food items and the final amount of the cash donation will be presented downtown to the UT Food Bank during their annual food drive event.

What a great way to spend Labor Day in the high alpine, sampling great home-made chili, tasting great food, listening to free live music, and helping a great cause in Utah!

Father’s Day BBQ Sunday June 15th, 2014

This year we have pulled out the stops for that special Father in your life and are inviting you to come celebrate this special day.  Snowbasin Resort is the perfect place to bring Dad for a day of relaxation, fun, sight-seeing, great food & entertainment all wrapped-up in a high alpine setting. The Needles Express Gondola will be running for sightseeing, with a free lift ride for Dad.  There will be a full BBQ and Buffet at Earl’s Lodge that includes sliders, tri-tip, flame kissed chicken, and all the traditional sides one would expect – and more!  There will also be a home-style dessert station and Ice Cream for the kids.  The BBQ is all you can eat and includes a soft drink or coffee (bottled or canned beverages are extra).  Click HERE for a full menu.

After you spend some time on the award-winning BBQ, you can relax on the Earl’s Lodge Lawn or Patio and listen to the 10 piece funk and soul band ‘Cure for the Common’.  Hailing from Bozeman, MT this soul and funk ensemble with electrify the Wasatch Mountains and get you to groove away all those extra calories from the BBQ in one of the most natural and pristine settings for live music in all of Northern Utah.  And best of all, the band is FREE and all ages!

**Absolutely no outside food or beverage is ever allowed at Snowbasin Resort.  In accordance with UT state law, absolutely no outside alcohol can be consumed on premise.  No reservations needed, this is a very casual first come first serve event and will no doubt be busy.  In order to enjoy the BBQ, you must pre-purchase your bracelet at the registers inside Earl’s Lodge.  Price NOES NOT include any alcoholic beverage of any kind.  Must be 21 to consume alcoholic beverage with official proof of age.  Only the Dad’s receive a complimentary lift ride – but still must redeem the ticket at the window in order to ride lift.  All others must still purchase their tickets.  Pets are allowed at Snowbasin Resort but only on the grass areas – never inside the Lodges without an official service pet designation.   Chairs are allowed on the grass as well as tents.  Tents must be secure and must be set up along the back of the music venue – never in front.

Come enjoy our last day of the summer & fall season Sunday Octobers 6th from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.  As the colorful autumn leaves change color & fall to the ground, only one thing is on the minds of powder junkies:  SNOW!!! Remember what a Hot Toddy tasted like?  How about that famous Snowbasin Resort Hot Cocoa?  Take a gondola ride up to Needles and scout out that favorite line before the snow falls, and get reacquainted with your favorite stash before it’s packed with our famous ‘Greatest Snow on Earth’.  Because as we all know, it’s coming; and coming with a vengeance for 2013/2014 winter season.

In great anticipation for the return of Old Man Winter, c’mon up and purchase your season pass before the preseason sale ends.  If you have already purchased your pass come get your picture taken and pass printed.  And then say goodbye to near perfect long summer and fall days, Blues, Brews & BBQ Concerts, bike trails, running trails, guided hikes and summer dining events.  Make way for the coming winter in all of its glory:  Fresh lines, near perfect corduroy, crisp and cold air, après ski, and great times.

Snowbasin Resort’s First Annual Beer Fest Oct 5th!

Help Snowbasin Resort close out the last weekend of our summer season with an ‘Oktoberfest’ style party done in true Snowbasin fashion Saturday October 5th!  8 Local UT craft brews will be “on tap” to satisfy all your beer needs and wants. German food staples like bratwurst, special sausages and home-made sauerkraut will be ready hot off-the-grill while summer BBQ favorites like brisket, burgers and pulled pork will be available for purchase.  In typical Snowbasin fashion we will have live music form “Two and a Half White Guys” playing Ska & Rock Steady music to entertain your festive afternoon.

Entrance to the event is FREE. Beer Tokens will be available for purchase (must be 21 + with valid ID) at $2 each that can be redeemed for one 6oz sampler beer.  2 Tokens will get you 12oz of beer.  Seasonal, specialty & high point beers will all be available to token holders.

Utah Symphony Under The Stars July 26th

Bring your enthusiasm for musical theater, light classics & patriotic themes, and join Ogden Symphony Ballet Association in welcoming the Utah Symphony to Snowbasin Resort!  Conductor Vladimir Kulenovic will lead the orchestra in this “Classically Charged Celebration” on Friday, July 26th at beautiful Snowbasin Resort at 8:00 p.m.  Gates open & food service begins at 6:30 pm.

The program will feature Musical Theater blockbusters such as the West Side Story, Classics like Belle of the Ball & red, white and blue favorites from “The Star Spangled Banner” to “An Armed Forces Salute.”

Tickets for the concert at Snowbasin Resort are $13 for lawn seating and $25 for preferred seating (prices increase $2 the day of the performance). Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band comes to Snowbasin Resort to play a FREE outdoor concert on the Patio of Earl’s Lodge as part of our Blues, Brews, & BBQ Sunday Concert Series on September 1st.  This heavy road touring band offers a mix of  Blues and Americana with a touch of hillbilly guaranteeing an amazing stage presence and performance. Opening is Bullets & Belles out of Salt Lake City offering a Neo-Doo-Wop-Folk feel that will leave you wanting more. Bullets & Belles will start at 12:00 pm with the Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band stepping on stage at 3:00 pm.

Monophonics with The 3-2-1′s

The Monophonics return to Snowbasin Resort to play a FREE outdoor concert on the Patio of Earl’s Lodge as part of our Blues, Brews, & BBQ Sunday Concert Series on August 4th. With their brand of psychedelic soul & funk the Monophonics bring a party atmosphere that will have you wanting  more days after the concert. Local favorites from Salt Lake The 3-2-1′s will be opening with their mixture of rock, soul, and blues with a dance hall  feel. The 3-2-1′s will start at 12:00 pm with the Monophonics getting on stage at 3:00 pm.

White Water Ramble featuring Moses Guest

White Water Ramble comes to Snowbasin Resort to play a FREE outdoor concert on the Patio of Earl’s Lodge as part of our Blues, Brews, & BBQ Sunday Concert Series on July 21st. Located in Colorado White Water Ramble  brings an amazing mix with bluegrass instrumentation, adding drums, and finishing with a boundary-less approach to grassing-up everything from disco house grooves to roots to Americana home promising a truly unique concert experience. Closing the day is the Texas-based Moses Guest offering Southern Rock with a touch of Pop, Jazz, Funk, and Country that  appeals to any audience.   White Water Rambler will start at 12:30 pm with Moses Guest at 3:00 pm.
