The SLUG GAMES’ Battle at the Basin Presented by Scion is the first installment of SLUG Mag’s amateur ski and snowboard contest. Battle at the Basin Presented by Scion is open to all ages, participants will compete in a jam style format dropping into a custom battle field course, designed by the SLUG Games team and executed by the Snowbasin Resort Park Crew.
The contest will be held on Jan. 11, 2014. Registration is free and will be held at 10 a.m. inside the Huntington Room in Earl’s Lodge.
There will be a cash prize and many other prizes including skis and snowboards provided by the Battle at Basin Presented by Scion sponsors including: Salty Peaks Snowboard Shop, Raja Attire, Zoo York Snowboards, Yelp, iNi Cooperative, Only in Ogden, RAMP Sports, Saga Outerwear, Milosport, Goal Zero, Crossroads Skateshop, DaleBoot, Kitten Factory, Pit Viper and Lucky Slice Pizza.

The Ogden Valley Business Association and The Snowbasin Adaptive Sports Education Foundation are hosting the Annual Snowdance and Auction on Saturday, January 11, 2014. This event, in its twelfth year, is a fundraising dinner and auction held in Earl’s Lodge at Snowbasin Resort. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds from the event will be used to enhance the programs of The Snowbasin Adaptive Sports Education Foundation and to further the goals of The Ogden Valley Business Association.
The guest speaker will be Deedee Corradini, former mayor of Salt Lake City. Deedee was a key player in bringing the Olympics to Utah. Since then, she has guided the Women’s Ski Jumping Team’s effort to be accepted as an Olympic sport for the first time in history. In fact, 2014 will be the first gender equal competition in Olympic history!
