Snowbasin Ski Patrol History And Snow Science

The Snowbasin Ski Patrol has a long and storied history. Since Snowbasin’s opening in 1939, there have been volunteer and professional patrollers working the slopes. Snowbasin patrollers provide guest services, first aid and comfort, and aid in the reduction of the risk of avalanches. All of this and more contribute to the quality experience that Snowbasin guests have come to expect. There will be a short history of the Snowbasin Ski Patrol and some basics about what it takes to reduce the risk of avalanche. You may see an avalauncher tower, hold a real hand charge and light a real fuse.
