My son and i are thinking about making the trip down from Canada. Are all 4 days packed with events or is it best to be there on the weekend? Looking for help with planning the trip

  17. Kim Smith Says:

Our big event over holiday weekend will be the Thanksgiving Buffet in Earl’s Lodge and it is sold out. However, there will be food serviced at the top of the mountain at Needles Lodge. Otherwise it will be four days of great early season skiing and snowboarding! One of our experienced ski patrol members says it’s the most snow he has ever seen at Snowbasin for this early in the year, and the National Weather Service says there is more to come in the next 18 hours or so. As of this morning, it has been confirmed that we will have Needles gondola, Middle Bowl triple chair and Little Cat chairlift up and running on Thanksgiving Day.

I hope that is helpful for planning your trip. We look forward to seeing you!

  25. Kim Smith Says:

White is likely to make an appearance at the Dew Tour finals, but it’s not yet certain. It will be a BIG event either way!

  26. Dave Says:

Two questions on the Tour – and I love that the finals are going to be here.
    1. Last year parking was a serious zoo over the weekend. Any possibility of public transportation from Mt Green or Ogden?
    2. Any volunteer oppertunities? I loved my Olympic experience at Basin, and would like to help out with the Dew tour if I can work out my schedule.

  27. isaac Says:

snowbasin rocks the house up at my house espically my dad.

  28. Jason Dyer Says:

The webcams are all back online now.

  29. Kim Smith Says:

Good questions. Because is the final stop of the tour, we are expected an even larger Dew Tour crowd this year. We will again have shuttle pick up points in several locations in the Davis/Weber area. The most convenient spot last year was at the Park-n-Ride at the mouth of Weber Canyon. We’ll keep you posted on where all of the pick-up points will be. If you would like to volunteer for the event, contact the GOAL Foundation at http://www.goalfoundation.com or 801-399-1773. Look forward to seeing you there!

  30. Matt Says:

Is there going to be another concert this year? If so.. any idea who it’s going to be or when it will be announced?

  31. Kim Smith Says:

We are very excited to consider another summer event, but no firm plans have been made at this point. Right now our focus is on making the Dew Tour Finals on Feb. 10-13 another great winter event at Snowbasin.

  32. tapper Says:

I’m not new to Snowbasin, but new to the parking and crowd affects of the Dew Tour. How difficult will Thursday and Friday be for parking and mid-day food lines? I know I can deal with it or simply go home, but just wondering if the first two days bring the crowds, or just 1-200 with the Sat & Sunday really bringing the crowds.

Love Snowbasin, will always come back for your great hospitality and terrain!

  33. Kim Smith Says:

The Dew Tour is a very fun event for us, and we do appreciate the patience of our locals during the event. We do not expect a lot of crowds on Thursday, but Friday, Saturday & Sunday will be busy. The best way to deal with parking is to arrive early to get a parking space (it starts getting busy at around 8 a.m.) or catch a shuttle ride from the Dee Events Center in Ogden or at the Olympic Parking Lot at the mouth of Weber Canyon. Last year the mountain itself wasn’t very crowded during the Dew Tour, so it’s great for riding and skiing.

  34. BILL Says:

THE locals love the dew tour ! no patience required

  35. Diane Says:

Does the 2011 mega pass allow for premium viewing like the 2010 action zone pass?

  36. Kim Smith Says:

The Mega Pass includes a meet and greet with the athletes and premium viewing at the base of the event. There is no Action Pass available this year.

  37. Taylor Says:

Is there a schedule for the events that will be taking place this weekend. Also will I need to purchase a ski pass for the day to see the events?

  38. David Says:

I heard there will be a free lift open for spectators, and they may bring there boards to ride over to a viewing area? If so, what are the hours the lift will be open? Thanks

  39. Kim Smith Says:

The Little Cat lift will be running from 9 a.m. until the events are over, but it will be free for foot passengers only. You can buy a Little Cat only lift ticket if you want to take your board up to the viewing area.

  40. Kim Smith Says:

You will not need a ski pass to watch the Dew Tour – foot passengers can ride the Little Cat lift to the viewing area free of charge. You can find the schedule of events at the link below. To summarize quickly, Thursday will be a practice day, Friday will be prequalifying for both halfpipe and slopestyle, Saturday will be halfpipe finals, and Sunday will be slopestyle finals.
