ALTERNATIVE ROCK BAND DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL TO HEADLINE WINTER DEW TOUR’S MUSIC STAGE AT WENDY’S INVITATIONAL, JAN. 15

Free Concert To Take Place on Ogden’s Historic 25th Street

Dashboard Confessional will headline the Winter Dew Tour’s Music Series presented by Verizon Wireless on Friday, January 15. The concert, also featuring local opening act Codi Jordan, will be held in the 200 block of Ogden’s Historic 25th Street (Grant Ave.) as a part of the second stop of the 2009-10 season, the Wendy’s Invitational, taking place at Snowbasin. The Friday night concert is free to the public and will begin at 7pm.

Originally the side project of lead singer Chris Carrabba, Dashboard Confessional recorded its first album Swiss Army Romance, releasing it in 2000 while Carrabba was still the front man of Further Seems Forever. However, it was the band’s sophomore album, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most and its single “Screaming Infidelities,” that brought Dashboard Confessional to the forefront. The music video for “Screaming Infidelities” garnered the group multiple accolades, including the MTV2 award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2002. More successes followed with A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar and Dusk and Summer, both of which peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard charts, with the song “Vindicated” being featured in the end credits of Spider-Man 2.

The band’s sixth album, Alter the Ending, was released on November 10, with the first single, “Belle of the Boulevard.”

Dashboard Confessional, along with opener Codi Jordan – a rock-driven, local Utah group with elements of reggae, folk and hip hop – will perform Friday night, January 15 on the 200 block of Ogden’s Historic 25th Street in Ogden. Friday night’s concert will begin at 7pm with gates opening one hour prior to the start of the show. The entire show will be free to the public.

  6. Derek Says:

Where can we get tickets to see the dew tour competitions? Is there grand stand seating?

  7. Susan Says:

Is there a way to get VIP tickets or pay for reserved seats or anything like that for the concert?

  8. jholmgren Says:

The concert is free, and there is no seating. Just come down and have fun! You should have no problem getting a good view. See you there!

  9. jholmgren Says:

There is no charge to view the competition! You can either walk up Littlecat to the viewing area/festival villiage (open 9am-4pm everyday), or foot passengers can ride up Littlecat Express for free. No grand-stands. You can stand along the sides of the event areas to view. If you want to ensure the very best viewing of the competition, Action Zone passes are still available! The pass is $100 for all three days, and you can purchase them at: ogden.travel

My husband and I are planning on comming up at 1 om saturday from Ogden/Layton area. What would you suggest as far as transportation? Are there shuttles going up or where can I find that info? Thanks!

  11. jholmgren Says:

You will be able to buy beer at the Festival Village, or in any of the restaurants at Snowbasin. Cinnabar Lounge will also be open with a full bar menu!

  12. jholmgren Says:

From Layton, you will definately want to take the free park-n-ride shuttle from the South Weber Park-n-Ride Lot on Hwy. 89. The will run continually, every 20 minutes or so. Check out the Transportation blog post for a complete schedule for Friday, Saturday, Sunday!

  13. Sharon Johnson Says:

Just caught the park and ride info on another post. Sounds like a great option thanks again!

  14. Ethan Says:

Wool you have speical parking for peoplle that want to ski that day or si it firstcome first serve?

  15. jholmgren Says:

Ethan: Parking is going to be first come, first served at Snowbasin during the Dew Tour. Saturday and Sunday will be the busiest days. I would highly recommend that you take the free park and ride transportation. You are welcome to take your skis/boards on the bus. If you choose to roll the dice and drive up, come early. See you on the mountain!

  16. ESchmidt Says:

I heard lift tickets are going to be $30 bucks on saturday of the dew tour is that true?

  17. Kim Says:

    To vincentb,
Thank you for not participating in the event. We that appreciate free, exciting entertainment don’t need you and your negative human expression.

To Snowbasin, thank you for hosting yet another awesome event!!

  18. JSTILES Says:

Can we bring beer to the area where we watch the competition? I know this is utah :)

  19. ESchmidt Says:

How much are lift tickets going to be on Saturday January 16th?

  20. kschoney Says:

Where would you recommend parking for the free concert? Is that up at Snow Basin also, or just in Ogden?
Also where can I find a schedule of events for Saturday?
    Thanks!

  21. Skidad Says:

If I was planning on coming up on Friday Afternoon to see the show from 3:30 on, do you think parking will be an issue?

  22. Skidad Says:

Sorry, I mean parking at the resort, then down to the concert. Any thoughts on parking in Ogden.

  23. Marci Says:

Free Dashboard Confessional & beer! What else is there??!

  24. Jodi Says:

I would suggest that you take the park-n-ride from either the Dee Event Ctr., or the S. Weber Park-n-ride lot to come up to Snowbasin. Once you return to your car, you can drive to downtown Ogden. There really isn’t a designated lot, so just park as close to 25th and Washington as you can. Have a great time!

  25. Jodi Says:

Hey Ski Dad: It is impossible to say what parking will be like on Friday afternoon. You might be okay, but that is your call!

  26. Jodi Says:

JStiles: Thanks for asking about bringing your own bear. The patio at Earl’s Lodge is licensed through the State of Utah as a restuarant. So — the State prohibits outside alcohol in that area. There is beer available at Festival Village! No coolers are allowed on the patio at Earl’s Lodge. If people bring coolers, it can actually put us at risk of loosing our license to sell beer on the patio. Have fun!

  27. ET Says:

Try parking @ Union Station on Wall between 26 & 24, Intermodal Hub on Wall Between 24 & 22. There are 2 parking garages next to the Salomon Center and the Magaplex. Only the 2 blocks of H25 ST from Wall to GRANT ST will be closed off for this concert.

  28. e Says:

Concert is in Ogden. Park where you can then take a cab from where you park to two bit.

  29. Monsoon Says:

no need for a cab in Ogden. The furthest you might have to park from the concert is 3-4 blocks. Lots of parking lots in that area.

  30. venessa Says:

to JSTILES, just bring a cooler and leave it in your car, also a backback full of beers never hurts.

  31. CHECKIT Says:

i’m taking the train up from SLC perhaps. does it get off near the concert? oh and is this concert outside? i wonder if there will be enough room for the thousands of people coming? is it in a small closed in spot?

  32. m Says:

hey i was just wondering what time dashboard will be starting at, i would guess 8ish. but i wanted to know if there was a set time

  33. Josnow Says:

I am having a problem finding the place where we can purchase Action Zone tickets on ogden.travel. Could you post the exact link please?

  34. Kim Smith Says:

Action Zone tickets will be available Dec 18.
